Saturday

It was a very quiet morning with not much happening.  Just the usual with breakfast, birds and finishing another scarf.  That sort of was all of it.

Late morning and the rest of the day was a bit different.  I decided there were plenty of scarves in the basket.  That made it a burp day.  And I stuck to it finishing the twenty that were in process.

30 dot burps finished with a new stack waiting for the sewing machine, TOMORROW.

I  pulled out another cute sheet ripping it into strips for more burps and doing the same with white flannel.  I'll need to do more flannel since the sheet was large and produced enough strips for 38 burps.  That's a whole lot of burps from one sheet.  I wonder if I counted correctly.

Aren't these cute.  I think the figures are from nickelodeon.  At least that's what the tag says.

Doug and I did a grocery run.  The cart was full and I told the checkout guy we were buying for the next snowstorm.  It took him a second to get his head around why I said that.  Aldi's was full of folks. There were a few empty boxes on the shelves but plenty of eggs, milk and bread. I'm not sure if and when that storm is coming but we'll be ready. I'd settle just for a warmer day.

I chose a big bunch of chicken legs.  Not my favorite but have read that they are more tasty than say white meat.  I put them in the crockpot with a little water, onions, better than bullion and celery and they really are smelling great.  I hope to make broth and debone the meat later to use in other things.

Finished and when a little cooler they will move to the refrigerator for more work tomorrow.                                                     The blender will take care of everything that is in the juice.

Our next stop was at Wild Birds.  I think we're keeping them afloat. The Blue Birds have been many. We had plenty of mealworms but the thing that really drives them almost nuts are Birdacious Bark Butter Bits.  They are little balls easy to eat full of good things for small birds.  A big bag came home with us.  While we were at W. Birds, a telescope was trained on a young eagle, tree sitting not far from the store.  Impressive for sure.  We had a great visit, and my hope is we don't need to return to Aldi's or W. Birds soon.  We spent enough money filling stomachs for more than a couple of weeks.  Just by chance we met Karen in the store, a new Y Live Strong cancer friend.

Yummy stuff for sure bird proven.

I started putting together new burps and finished two to see how they looked.  I'm sure they will be popular with the new mothers and babies.

A phone call asking for a ride to church tomorrow came from Bob and Rita.  Of course.  I was happy they asked. A long time ago we took their children to church allowing Bob and then Janice to get to church early because Bob held the position of music minister, Janice doing accompanying, they both had responsibilities at the 8:30 and 11:00 services.  Then it was the children, now the parents of those children. Bob and Rita are both in their early 90's, great friends who live 2 miles from us.

So the evening promises to be slow, quiet and easy.  A wonderful way to end the day.
