Friday

And on Friday, she (Lela) observed the third day of rest even though according to the book there was one day only of rest on the seventh day.  Not being God, this body needed a bit more time.  It was a very short night.  Thinking back to 2021 there were three months of not sleeping in bed but in a chair after the big surgery.  So, I just took to the chair at 1:45 am as if it was 2021.  No problem at all.  I watched reruns having not seen them in the first run.  There were short naps and the day came around just as I knew it would.  Some things haven't changed.

The morning was easy with a 9 o'clock meeting I hoped would be the last PT until the next group of PT sessions were a necessity.  I have no plans to do another group currently.  There were three of us waiting in the lobby for our "teachers".  It all started with a comment about me with a cane but carrying it. We were having such a good time telling stories and laughing that we decided we'd just stay in the lobby.  That didn't work.  So eventually we all went through what we needed to go through.  I passed go but forgot to collect money.  Maybe the reward was a head and body that worked again.  If so, that's good enough for me.  So, it was goodbye time with homework that will need to continue strengthening muscles and coaching my head in ways that Vestibular behaves. It's back to PT if Ves. forgets.

I came straight home to Doug's surprise.  Proving I could pass go wore me out. The rest of the morning I worked on the scarf with the hope by evening I could call it finished.  And that happened.

By afternoon I was feeling even better so off to the Y was on the to do list.  R and B were there riding on the NuStep.  We had a good visit, and I moved on to the Treadmill with Schubert.  My mile was a little longer today and I skipped the NuStep.  It was time to move home.  I was trying to remember where the good sense was located in my brain.  I found it!

Monday at Living Strong we're going to paint rocks with words of encouragement.  They will be given to friends who would benefit. They might stay in our own pocket if that's the choice or taken to IU North Cancer Center for anyone who would need an encouragement rock.  I spray painted Lake Superior rocks with red, orange, gold and white paint. We'll use paint pens to decorate the rocks.  And some rocks will stay unpainted just as they came from the lake.

The Living Strong group as had some trauma with one of the leaders dying unexpectedly.  I am a newbie to the group not knowing Mary Anna as long as the rest of the group.  It's been a difficult time for the members as well as the leader Mary Anna worked with. I hope the rock painting project will help with grief processing.

There was supper of course and tonight is the I U/Purdue game.  It could be a toss-up, but I think I'll root for I U.  So that was the day.  I got another one and am so grateful for all that God has given me.
