Thursday

Waiting for Palm Sunday in my living room receiving a misting every other day with the hope of staying alive for another few weeks.  It's surviving here instead of at Lowes.  I hope they have a better chance at life.

I called today another health day meaning time at the Y should help this body take a few steps closer to maintaining the health I have if my good sense clicks in.

So as usual, it was the usual morning stuff that included more knitting needles.  I took the basket of scarves with me to the Y having a friend who missed out getting a scarf when the bulk of the LS members received theirs.  The friend was visiting family in India.

I spent the first 30 minutes with Living Strong folks hearing about funerals and another Y employee dying.  Not such a good morning for some folks including me to begin the next part of the morning.  I guess I'm not a very good listener having empathy that stagnates the mind in not such a good place.  Living through the last five years of cancer, I've learned to adjust my thinking to what is best for me if possible.  Somethings just don't pass the sniff test.

After 30 minutes, I moved on to strengthening class putting my mind in a better place.  It was fun and I enjoyed being where the body got a good work out. Chris, my martial arts teacher was my pardoner. The workout was hard, but I felt productive.  There was a 30-minute break that saw me on the NU Step for 15 of the 30.  Then up to the second floor for martial arts learning. I learned that JoDo is really a Korean Martial Art.  More moves were introduced.  They were a challenge to remember. There were three students and two teachers.  I love that ratio leading to even more work.  Woo.  At 1:30 the class was over and I was one whooped puppy.  Not surprised but whooped.

A few days ago I received news of being awarded a yearly grant for $2500.00 that can be applied to co pay for medicine. I learned it wasn't a fake. The pharmacist logged in all the info.  But for today's prescription, it didn't work.  Bummer.  That's a new something to work on.  It's a Pam Foundation grant. Any little bit helps a whole lot these days.

I spent what was left of the afternoon time taking a nap, knitting, writing the blog and a little TV when not asleep.  The day was a good one with a body that was tired for a good reason.  That's the way I like being tired.  Not tired for no reason at all isn't productive, just maddening.

It would seem that there are a few things left over from today that will fill part of tomorrow. There is another infusion 8 am appointment.  With PT over and done for now, more time belongs to me! Life goes on and that's a good thing. Jonquils are peaking through!!!!!
