Monday

Today!  Different in a lot of ways but the same in a lot of ways.  Another crazy night of sleep. That seems to be the same.  Michigan family gone.  So different.  But being with friends...that was the same and wonderful.

All three Rue plants are back with us again.  They are the perfect spot for Swallowtail                                  Butterflies to lay their eggs.  Their babies love Rue. The same can be said of dill.                                        More lettuce has appeared and people should be well salad in a few weeks.

Morning stuff happened the same and then off to church for another work morning with the Goetzinger and Oehler worker bee friends.   This morning the job was to put away Palm Sunday and think visuals about the coming Holy Week that were noted last night on Word.  It pays to plan ahead. Holy Thursday service will be in the chapel.  We stripped everything we could.  Then moved a few things and that space is ready.  The Friday service will be in the sanctuary. Palm Sunday is gone.  Now the cross is draped with black as is the pulpit, candles and a few more things.  It is ready for the Friday evening service with the choir singing the Rutter Requiem.

Saturday will be the busiest morning of the church year for us worker bees with Good Friday visuals disappearing and out comes Easter visuals.  We were able to hang banners from the balcony and then pulled them out of sight. A few more tricks happened hoping to make that morning go smoothly and quickly as possible.  It's a clear turn around of events and visuals all happening in two or three hours. I feel we are as close to that as possible.  It's almost magical in developing.

Ginger...It has such a strange way of growing.  I'm finding it in many places moved by the ants.

I did some flower shopping on the way home getting a feel for what is available.  We are grateful for Sue Hirshman's willingness to provide altar flowers for years her family remembering her husband Frank and going far beyond in her contribution.  Frank was a gem who contributed so much to North.  Sue's flowers go on two pedestals beside the altar.  Ace Hardware had the best price for altar flowers.

                                                                    Moving right along.

The Monday after Easter Sue's flowers will be taken to an organization who provides flowers for hospital patients in need of cheer. The altar flowers go to Sunday visitors.

So one more job checked off the to do list.  There are not to many things that remain to be completed. We're closing in on Holy Week in pretty good style, or so it seems.

Same location but new digs for the B Birds. Now if I could just train those pesky sparrows to move on.

The rest of the afternoon proved to be nap time.  The weather was so nice for garden work but the body wasn't responding in that way.  Blogging happened.  Picture taking happened and once again pictures from church just didn't happen.

There is a big BUT!!!  I slurped a big protein drink and the body came to life.  It was yard time and I cleaned up some corners again getting rid of a lot of Charlie among other things.  Proof!!

Both big blues are almost full again.  My remembering brain forgot this was part of spring.

Tonight the chair will feel like home.  Basketball?  Maybe NIT.  Maybe not.  I can't  remember. Maybe knitting. Maybe not. What ever floats the boat.  There is a lot to be said about all the good things that happened today.  Every minute counted and I'm grateful for the chance to have those minutes.. Thanks be to God. Rain is predicted for the next four days.  Sounds like some time off!!!!! You think?
