Sunday
Today was a day with many different things happening. One might say too many but I might say just enough. But many for sure.
The Michigan kids were on their way back home by 9:10 but many things happened before they left. There was a request for some pussy willows to take back home for fence making on the farm. Of course I said yes. Why not. The two trees were way too full and needed pruning.
The bundle was huge. The tree still had plenty of branches. Here was our chance for pruning to happen. The loppers came out along with the ladder and the chopping began. All the clippings were tired together and the van took care of the storage problem. And the kids were on their way.
Giving it a tight tug. Ready to load.Into the van it went between the seats from front to back with a little bend at the end to close the door.
A great place for a fence in the garden. We got a face time message at 6 and now there are two really nice pussywillow fences at the JB Russell house. They are beautiful and if they root in the damp soil they could have a fence for a long time.
A second fence was built in a wet area of the property. It has a good chance of becoming a living fence. Good maintainance would allow it to last for years.I would like to weave a protective pussy willow cage for cosmos, in my garden. Last summer the rabbits were more than plentiful. The cosmos were in danger every day. They took a licking. Something to think about when planting possible rabbit food.
Palm Passion Sunday Service at church was so meaningful visually and the spoken word so informative and beautifully done. One of the best P P Sunday service's I have experienced. A good memory once again of North providing meaningful worship. I just don't see how one could improve on today's event. Jills concluded the service with an inspirational message. And the music inspired as it always does.
When back home after the morning, the house felt empty and so, so quiet. Voices had disappeared and no little friend bouncing around looking for Kimmy. Another something to get use to once again. There was some basketball, some sleeping, some visiting with Gina and her new garden with surprises appearing. And then Gina visiting my garden. She liked my fence. I think it is a winner for 2026. Once again, Gina's free accusations this time of rock for her garden was impressive. She finds the best free stuff to mess with. I checked to find three false indigo have popped through the ground to say present for the year 2026.
There are a lot of green shapes emerging. Another name for this plant is Baptisia. They come in many colors through hybridizing. I have blue and yellow. .So many unplanned things happened this weekend. Surprises for sure that provide the unexpected, giving life to living. Arnie made it home again although car riding is certainly not one of his favorite things to do. I think he could use a little Dramamine to get him through. But Kimmy said there is improvement in his car sickness. That is a good sign.
He for sure, was telling us with actions that the car was not where he wanted to be. Notice that tight lead.
