Tuesday

Today was another work day.  I've had a few of those lately.  It must be spring.  So, I added another one to the previous count.  The work included moving a million, not quite but it seemed like a million Lake Superior rocks from their winter nesting place.  Then making a clean edge.  Adding Preen to knock down weeds that might be lurking in the seed form and then relaying the rocks.  Lots of work but looks good when finished.  I dug out a big clump of Sea Grass in that same bed making it a contribution to the b blue containers.  That was almost as much work as the rock stuff.  The roots told me they were going to make the job as hard as possible.  Yes, they talk to me.  But I won!  The bed is ready for dahlias.  How many?  I'm not quite sure.  Maybe 8.  If all goes well it should be quite a show for late summer and fall.

No fires today.  Oh, yes there was.  Doug burned the burn pile.  But the ball behaved.

This afternoon I made a stop at the Y reconnecting with my M. Arts friends.  I'm sort of sad not being with them.  They are moving right along and Chris said in no uncertain terms that I should come on down again regardless of missing some classes.

I stopped at Rosie's to see what plants she had and the house was stuffed full of everything.  I bought two small butterfly weed plants and a stone crop plant.  Later I replanted some bits of stone crop that lasted over winter plus the newly purchased plant adding a few other things to the patio pot.

Now it's April and EARLY in the planting season but warmer then usual.  I planted Mexican Sunflower seeds harvested from last years plants.  I have more seeds so if these don't work I'll just do it again if necessary. I dug out some over the hill parts of a very old volunteer hibiscus plant in the garden. I was surprised how easy that was. I should have done it years ago. They just sprawl making everything to full.  The milkweed rule the garden currently but not for long.

A lot of rocks with an evening sun.  Not much more to do but wait.

Supper was a delicious salad.  I wanted to eat under the umbrella but it was windy.  Not a good idea when I think of Mary Poppins.  I finished the stepping stone idea with a few changes.  Tomorrow I'd like to plant some ground cover to soften the stone look.  When the zinnias come along they will be added.

So, there was much the same today with some differences.  Bloodwork is acceptable so it's back on Kisqali, my currently favorite drug for at least another month and hopefully for a very long time. It's keeping me alive and I am grateful.
