Friday.

Forgetting is getting to be a habit.  What happened this morning.  There wasn't much to forget because not much happened.  It was a lazy crazy morning, mostly lazy with not much crazy.  There was breakfast, paper fetching and a for certain walk around especially to see the new plant addition.  I was afraid Dahlias might be good rabbit food but that wasn't the case.  They were all smiling and I was happy.  What good strong bodies they had with arrival and continue to have.  One later in the day got a little move allowing more room for growth.  The three vacant places have been staked already waiting for the hole occupant arriving Sunday.

I made another trip to the flower tent telling the girls working there that if I appear again, they have permission to shoot me.  I think I've scared myself enough to stay away.  I picked up two flats of small zinnias and another herb.

It's only money!  Right?  This afternoon I managed to clear away all the now over the hill Blue Bells and planted 8 new short zinnias to boarder the path.  The same thing happened at another place.  The zinnias are a healthy lot and after the planted ones have adjusted for a couple of day their heads get chopped off in order to allow the rest of the plant to gain a little girth.  It kills me to do that but their beautiful first flowers need to go for the sake of the plant.  The same will happen with the State Fair Zinnias.  It's a killer almost for me.  Thinking about the future makes sense.

Not one saved seed from last year has appeared.  I thought I was following directions carefully.  Something didn't work.  The pot marigolds and the curly parsley are popping through.  I've noticed all the dill I transplanted is gone.  It must have been the rabbits.  There is more available from the butterfly garden, so I'll do it again.

There was a good rain late morning and I made a run for the Peony blossoms before they shattered.  There are no altar flowers this week so the garden will supply adding more Iris along with some grasses.  I've cut some Blue False Indigo flowers but think they will be sagging by tomorrow. They will get a pre test starting tonight.  The morning will say yes or no.

Supper was another great Bib's Lettuce with a ton of stuff added.  It's amazing how many things I can think of to add to any salad.  Yum, Yum.  My sister gave me her salad spinner which I am in love with.

What a neat gadget.  I cut lettuce Monday, wash it, spin it and it stays in the spinner in the refrigerator all week.  The lettuce is always ready for a meal.  How easy can that be?  Real easy.
