Thursday

I guess it's sort of like putting up a new bulletin board.

It was catch up morning.  After a short night of sleep I was off to I U North for infusions and a calcium shot for bones.  It took a while waiting for a doctors OK trying to eliminate another blood draw among other things. We were successful. When I was on the way I stopped at Ace for some mulch and two plants.  The goal for the morning was to work on the path to the back yard that I started yesterday.  There are times that make me wonder why I make more work for myself.  Maybe wanting to see something new and proving to myself that I can do it.  Could it be that?

A new theme for an old song.

So, the morning was spent working on the path I cleared 95% of the old grass yesterday.  I finished that.  Then it was stabilizing the stepping stones.  Next came preen.  I moved a lot of small plants from other places in the garden putting them in spaces between the stones where I thought they would work.  Some plants got moved more than once.  I did a bit of watering although the ground was pretty wet to start with.  I worked till 1pm and then decided to call it finished for Thursday.  Tonight I'll see how they survived.  I think when all is where they should be I'll do another preen job and then mulch it.  Something different for sure that should hold my interest.  There are more plants to move other places. Books I have read says this sort of path is something that helps the garden visitor pick their way through the garden carefully making sure to see the bits and pieces of the garden missed if traveling to fast.

Like the last chapter of a much loved book.

I spent the rest of the afternoon looking at garden books and a few Scientific America magazines I picked up at a garage sale.  Such interesting articles I want to revisit. Because of the short night of sleep of course there was a good catch up time on the chair.

                                                        Favorite flavor of ice cream.

Supper was a great salad again.  I had other plans but the clock gobbled up the minutes and the old salad thing came through.  Tomorrow night...something different for sure.

A Monarch's resting place and food for their babies..  Doug has spotted Monarchs already.  It's early!

We did an Uber again for Eric.  The bike thing has been hard on his back since he did the big muscle injury.  I would imagine next week could be bike week.  No basketball last night but the Spurs and Thunder will be on the floor tonight. I'll mix that up with more reading.

The cherry on top of the Sunday.

Looking forward to tomorrow morning to see how the plants survive.  No rain for a few days.  It will be mulch day tomorrow a long with a whole bunch of other things.  I'm praying for sleep tonight.
