Friday

A sweet little zinnia doing just what I want it to do.  Grow up.

I made certain today was an easy day.  Well, perhaps a not so hard day.  There was coffee on the patio.  Then came wet shoes with thinking about the morning and what could happen.

Mexican Sunflowers.  Small now but when they take off it's not long till they are 6 ft tall.                                                      Beautiful orange flowers loved by the butterflies.

I moved some zinnias and ferns Then checked the Dahlias giving them a better chance to do a little growing after their encounter with rabbits.  They got a good drink of plant vitamins.  I'll be following up with more in the coming days looking for a little growth now and then.  I think there is hope in the air.  And yes, one of those little bunnies greeted me on the patio.  The ground is still extremely wet so that was the damper for me.

It's the first year this old plant has had more than one flower.  It must be the rain that brought a change.

At 11 I left for the teachers meeting at Bru Burgers. That's my favorite place to eat a very, very delicious salad of greens, pecans, cranberries and feta cheese.  Yum, yum. Then add a great dressing probably filled with sugar.  It's so good all four of us order the same thing.  There were a lot of words flying the whole time we were together.

Canna.  Last year they were planted in one area.  This year, six different places.  We'll see what is best.

Then I was off to return books to the library which was closed.  Juneteenth Day.  I'll be back tomorrow.

Home just in time to head out again to Aldi's for another weeks worth of food and then home just in time to watch another soccer game.  This time the USA team which with two wins now can move on to the next phase.

The yogurt cans go up the pole during the day enjoying the sun and come down at night.                                                    The rabbits are out and about making mischief at night.

Supper happened and some time was spent visiting with Gina who is in the process of turning part of her lawn into a wild flower field.  It's a lot of work but she is all in with the doing part.  I have no doubt it will happen. It's a cover the yard, then uncover, cover, and uncover and I think one more of the same.  Then time to plant.

One last bloom with what seems to be hiding from view.

More soccer tonight after the blog and pictures get posted.  The garden is pretty much in the growing stage so the new part is not very new.  It's the wait and see time of the year.
