Tuesday

The morning sun lit up this picture that added the neighbor's garden in the background..

The morning started early.  There was a feeling of taking it easy with starting the day.  And I really did that.  Slow as molasses in January in Alaska.  4:30 brings slow time whenever that happens.

A new color.  Something different almost every morning.

Then there was a walk through the garden with the thought of finishing the trimming job the deer did a few days ago.  It's so easy to miss things when just a few things are deer messed up stuff.  There were a few Hostas, day lilies and that was about it to snip at.  I lifted the cups up over the Dahlias for the sun to shine in.  An hour later when I was out little bunny was hopping away from that bed.  Darn!  I deer/rabbit sprayed at that point.

There will be a lot of tomatoes this year.  There will be more if I get some of the leaves clipped soon.

I did some edging and pulled some over the hill lettuce out to make more room for Basil when I move them.  The plants are small and germination wasn't so hot but I'll have at least 10 plants for pasta making later.  Moving plants in the evening usually results in better success with the night to recover but evening is also bug time.  I hate itch and bumps.

Bitter lettuce around the egg plant.  But it looks pretty.  Basil needs to find a home somewhere.

The afternoon brought some soccer again along with a trip to the library for more garden books.  Yes...there are a lot of repeat books but that's ok.  There is always something I've missed.  I picked up another Zigler book.  One of my favorite flower farmers to read about. She is good.

I received a phone call telling me for sure what dates for infusions needed through September.  I U North is taking care of me for sure.

Now that the asparagus and dahlias are safe, dill is on the rabbit menu.                                                                  There is a deer away book in my stash from the library.

Then there was supper and more soccer.  I would say a rather quiet day with not much activity but enough for me.  Summertime and the livin' is easy.
