Wednesday

There are at least 14 Roma tomatoes on this plant.  The pollinators certainly came through.

Yes...Wednesday all day.  It started swimmingly with a text from my friend Jo, an old choir member who moved to Atlanta Ga to be with two of her daughters.  She's back in Indy for a visit. I invited her to sing the anthem with us Sunday.  I hope that happens.  I think she does also.

This little pepper plant has three peppers forming.  One is big enough to eat right now.  I added peppers to the supper salad tonight.  Yes...the pollinators have been busy. And the egg plant also is coming through with cool purple vegetables.

I made a phone call to Mike, the hair guy with a cutting appointment this afternoon.  That was quick.  I have quite a mop of hair getting a longer cut last time.

The garden walk was short with wet grass again.  But long enough to find little bunny sitting again near the Dahlias.  I decided to bait the trap with apples hoping for a successful event.  Bunny is just a tad bigger then chipmunks.  It could work.  I did more tomato snipping clearing out some leaves as well as the same in other places.  It's getting a bit crowded.  That's a good thing.

A beautiful seed pod just as interesting as the flower Nigella

The black birds were back.  Yes...a whole lot of them.  I made some changes with the hanging bird feeders with the hope that the patio doesn't get so messy.  Yes...Hope springs eternal.  All of the above happened before 9. I call that a busy start to the day.

There was more time on the patio with one of the library books.  It's an interesting true story that takes place in Vermont about pigs and gardening.  Seems interesting so far.

Tipsy is the next to bloom.  I'm getting a little eager.

After lunch at the invitation of Rita, I stopped at her house and cut some lettuce for our suppers.  Ours is a bit bitter.  Then passing Goodwill I chose to stop and see what was available.  I found one sheets for my Goodwill project, one sheet for our bed and two pair of shorts.  What shorts I have has fallen down.  That's not such a good look.  I checked my watch...OOPS.  2 PM and that was when the Mike hair appointment was to happen and the check out line was LONG.  I stashed meaning hid everything and took off to see Mike 10 minutes late.  He took care of me!  Then it was back to Goodwill, getting my stash of things and heading to check out.  Over, Done and Out the Door.  Yikes. Yes a big Yikes because I forgot a big plastic flowerpot I needed.  So back to Goodwill for that.  It was sort of a frantic afternoon. I needed that pot to plant all the tiny red bud trees found in the flower beds that will go to Mich. at some point.

The butterfly favorite Verbena.  This morning while working in the garden, a Swallowtail joined me.  I asked, where is your buddy, meaning the Monarch.  And guess what.  In another 5 minutes the Monarch joined us.  How cool is that! Verbena self seeds and this summer I have moved it to many places in the garden.
How interesting all of these flowers are on the same plant.

Soccer happened and then within the hour came supper. More soccer will happen this evening.  So I would call this day a tale of two events quite different in adventures.

PS...the squirrel took care of the apple in the trap.  His long tail is his asset allowing him to escape keeping the door open.
