It's been spurts of busy and spurts of lazy.  It's my kind of day at least for today.  The thunder is rolling as I type.  It would seem a big, huge, impressive storm is coming our way.  I hope the garden survives.  

The day started with rain.  My job was to do some cutting in the garden for a 9:00 church arrival time to do some flowers for the altar.  I moved it to ten allowing for a clothes change.  Heidi also did some garden cutting and we met at 10 in the sanctuary.  And here are the results.

                            I posted these pictures on Face Book today.  Messing was a lot of fun.

I took a lot of garden pictures this afternoon hoping the storm will not do too much damage.  You will see drifts of flowers that are in the southern part of the garden.  Years of gardening in the same place help to make that happen.

he afternoon lead to burp sewing, knitting and watching women's basketball.  The Fever really turned it on last night with more than 100 points to win again.  There were two good games this afternoon. If you haven't seen any game, I would encourage you to try at least one.  

The Dahlias are beginning to show beginning blooms again.  Some I've seen and there are new ones soon.  


                        This Dahlia looks like it will be huge and yellow.  We'll soon get the results.
                           This Dahlia has repeated itself at least 4 or more times already this year. 
One plant that was started from seed this spring already has a lot of buds.  And the one that was just a little shoot that broke off from the root is growing and looking good. My Dahlia growing friends say, they just love to grow no matter what.  All now are tied to stakes or are living inside of cages on their way to being beautiful. 

So life is good, interesting and busy which is what we all need to make a difference in the world. Another basketball game is playing now.  We'll see if and when the storm reaches us and all is right with the world.  Well, sort of.

                                   A nice ending to an interesting day.  Fresh flowers are always refreshing.  I woulad call this a little crazy day.  Meaning the unexpected was part of the morning.  But first... A great night of sleep again thinking it was six o'clock when it really was seven.  Now an extra hour of sleep never hurt anyone.  There was breakfast of course with a little TV. Yesterday I finished sewing and turning 30 burps, so the order of the morning was to iron all of them with top stitching in mind at some point. And there was time to iron all 30.             I did some straw flower seed saving.  It's a repeat of last fall that worked well this spring. Red sails in the morning, Sailors take warning.   The warning sign was miss thinking about a wonderful day with a gorgeous sunrise, but it turned into anything but wonderful. And after yesterday's blog entry, what was hoped to be a good week had a dismal beginning.  Jared called to tell us that Sunday evening Wyatt, their beautiful red poodle stopped eating and by three in the morning of Monday as Jared was driving to Lancing to the Vet at Michigan State, Wyatt died.  Wyatt was one wonderful dog in every sense of the word.  Smart, friendly, protective with absolute understanding about so many things.  Today and the days ahead will be days of mourning eventually becoming times of reflections about all the good that Wyatt brought to us.  His camping chair is now sitting in our living room reminding us of that goodness he gifted us.  After hearing about this event, I took a walk outside to clear my head and heart and found the first of many crocus bl...

 The morning started off with breakfast and then a trip with Eric to Nora where he catches the bus to Indy.  I always love these trips in the winter often accompanied with a beautiful winter sun rise.  The morning light was coming through but it will be even better in another month.  I have taken some beautiful pictures in the early morning.   Home again and I did some sewing and some knitting.  The usual stuff that seems to be the winter work.  Ten more burps and I finished another scarf, one that could have been finished yesterday.  I was thinking no rush which is really true.  There is no rush. All the ripped fabric has been sewn so it would seem new ripping will happen soon. This noon was our first North Side North Church noon lunch instead of supper.  No driving in the dark for three months.  There were eleven of us, a smaller group but we all sat around one long table which was really nice.  And there was so much tal...
