Wednesday

Hanging High!                                                                     The  symbols of cross, star and circle along with the six colors are found on flags of many countries.

First...for sure the Fever won last night.  That's for sure.  Now Thursday will be the true test about moving on to the second set of playing the best of five.  Yikes.  I hope they come through and I'm sure that's what they want to accomplish also.  Once again Nancy Baxter and I were texting each other throughout the game.

Four of the Six Hanging High.  Two didn't get their picture taken.

And today another Wednesday to do and I certainly did do.  This was a planned work morning at church to change once again the sanctuary to reflect W W Communion this coming 4th.  And work we did.

Pulpit handing from Kenya along with Kenyan figures.

There were banners to hang and displays throughout the sanctuary to reflect the day.  A fun time and a creative time with the brain cells spinning again.

A colorful throw blanket from Mexico along with a pot and drum from Kenya.

My years of teaching come right back to me when thinking about how the theme for the day can come alive visually.

We talked a bit about Advent but that's another subject for another day as well as a few other events on the calendar.  The weekend of the 11th will see something a bit different so another work day is scheduled for the 8th of October.  Yikes.

Globs loaned from Parishioners. Fabric from Kenya

So the morning was filled with church.  Lunch happened and I moved on to another sewing project for Goodwill babies.

Ginny mentioned more than a year ago the need for small clean blankets for new born that could be placed on the floor for babies to stretch and twist and wiggle.  I heard but didn't respond.  Baby blankets at Goodwill are not cheap enough for my pocketbook. But when the brain cells started working again, I found that a fleece blanket for 4 bucks could be divided into 4 small blankets.  When the cut edges were hemmed another 4 small baby play blankets for Good will babies happened.. Today there are 12 completed and waiting for babies Another trip less then 2 miles south to the Nora Goodwill happened.  There were a lot of fleece blankets to choose from and two came home with me. Soon I'll add 8 more to the stash.  And the first blankets I put together number 4 and that fleece is thinner.  So I guess by Sunday I should have at least 20 small clean play areas for new born babies.  Ginny will be thrilled to pass these on to the nurses who are assigned to new mothers.

Some completed and some needing completion.

There was a little time on the chair with a power protein drink.  Goodness...I needed that.  When the church is huge, one better to be aware a lot of walking needs to happen when changing or renewing visuals.  It's like two Y workouts.  I know the drill.  There are never surprises.

Heidi and James Horton, Laurel Goetzinger and I were the worker bees for today.

Supper happened and then will come an evening of catching up with myself.  That's a good thing. I would imagine the needles will be working at some point.  I'm almost to the last stitch of another scarf.

Another table with American Indian throw and Kenyan drums.
