Monday
There was a lot of Dahlia snipping this morning with three vases loaded with flowers. It makes my day.
After a busy weekend I welcomed a not so busy Monday but it turned out to be sort of busy anyway. It was time for my monthly blood work to determine if my body was ready for another month of cancer medication. If the numbers were not so good, I would need to wait another week for body recuperation before back on meds. If I passed the test, I could get started on the meds for the next three weeks. So off to I U North I went discovering there was no order from the doctor. Now this trip was around 7:30 when the whole world was going to work in Indianapolis. Woo. Traffic was scary. But I made it to the hospital only to return home...call the doctor to get an order and then right back to the hospital again through traffic and construction detours. It took patience to do what I needed to do and eventually around 10:00 I was back home again after giving blood for testing.
Once again, I passed the blood testing with the usual low but OK numbers and I was back on my cancer pills. Yeah!
The sewing machine was calling so I sewed thirty more burps now with seventy finished and in the waiting box.
A wild sort of orange to finish off the last 30 burps. Then at 12;30 I was on my way again with a stop at Ace for garbage bags on my way back to I U North with a visit with Dr. Goodman, the vascular doctor. All was declared great and I'll see her again in a year. That's a great feeling. There was one more stop on the way home at Goodwill choosing a sheet that should get me to 100 burps once I'm back on the sewing machine.
Then it was time to be quiet. After the activities of the weekend as well as all the going on today I thought it best to take on the chair for a while. That was a great decision.
Supper tonight was at McAlister's with North Church friends. I love that experience and look forward to seeing north side church folks with someone else doing the cooking! Beth brought me a lot of bed sheets. Woo. I'll be skipping that part of shopping for a while. How fortunate for me and the Goodwill babies. I call those sheets, showers of blessings.
A couple of walks through the garden today proved to me that there are at least 20 caterpillars munching away on dill and parsley. It's a rare thing for me to find this time of year. I wish it were spring instead of fall.
There will be football in America tonight. Another great chance to sit in the chair. This was a good day even with a sluggish beginning that I don't want to do again for a while.
