Monday
A day like none other or something like that.
A few weeks ago while in the Aldi parking lot, I watched as two cars backed out of their parking space at the same time into each other. One of the cars was driven by Doug. The other car had no damage but ours had a minor ding on the "trunk" door. Doug wanted to ignore it. I said no particularly since we lease our car. Well, this morning was the morning to turn the car in for fixing which we did arriving at 8:30. The price to do that ..$3,000 dollars. If the ding was two inches to the left it would have been much cheaper. We have a good deductible. BUT it took the rest of the morning to get a car rental from Enterprise. There were a host of us needing rentals and the Enterprise girl was experiencing her first day on the job. It was close to a nightmare experience for both her and all of us. We were home three hours later with the morning eaten up although no other unpleasant experiences happened. One this morning was enough. That was a big blessing.
Proof that adding a bit of time like more than 50 years can make something beautiful. This hard maple tree came as a baby from the Oehler woods. It's not so little any more but growing still more beautiful.Lunch happened and the afternoon was a split pea soup making operation with yummy croutons added. The pot was full and I called Carol to ask if she would like some soup. Yes, was the answer so off I went to make the delivery. I added a stop at the battery shop. Driving our "new" little car feels like motoring in a clown car. Something really different. I added some gas, stopped at Goodwill and left everything there and then turned north again and motored back home again. It was clean up the kitchen and TV/Nap time which felt good. Not much to show for the day but I'm fine with that.
Tomorrow will be a bit different with what I hope will be a good, very good work day at North. All Saints day will be the focus along with the Hamilton Series and some Advent sorting that should make that preparation easier later in November. Thinking ahead always helps when there is a lot happening at church this time of year.
Tonight is football as well as another WNBA game. A lot to keep track of in the sports world.
