Thursday

Another Thursday.  They just keep coming and that's fine with me.  At the beginning of the week it became apparent to me that there was something to do elsewhere every day of this week.  Yes, some weeks are like that even in Australia as Alexander would say.  Today was to be a morning with Noah at Bread and Bowl at North.  Well, last night I discovered it will be next Thursday.  Woo.  was I happy about that?  You bet.  Today was mine all day doing what I wanted to do all of it at home.  Well, almost.

I finished the last 10 burps so the next 100 burps are ready for the trip to Ginny.  I spent some time putting thread and more where they really belonged in the sewing room. Some fabric was trimmed and deposited in the recycle container.  So a few things like that just make where I work and what I'm looking at a little more pleasing and organized.  I would add, ready to mess up again at some point.  That took care of most of the morning.

The last hibiscus of the year.

By noon I had no good excuse to say once again that the outside could wait again for some attention. The temp. was wonderful and of course the rain would come much later. This time I pulled out the cart and the B Blue and headed for the hibiscus plants.  They pretty much filled one of the bins.  But I saved some dried hibiscus seed pods because they are so interesting and beautiful.  When will I use them.  I have no idea.

Then the hedge trimmers and I had a huge relationship with one of the beds of ornamental grasses.  That and a few other things filled the second B Blue. Woo.  My body told me it needed a big break from any other garden job.  So it was chair time and I woke up an hour later.  Woo.  Now how is that for a good nap in the middle of the day!  I usually have the 15 minute kind of snooze.

Left to bloom...cannas, zinnias, marigolds, dahlias, straw flowers, nasturtiums. Frost is predicted for the weekend but I'm hoping for the 36 degrees that are promised so far.  Oh, yes...I moved all the caterpillars to the parsley bed where there's more food and cover.  They came from the dill and fennel.  They are still munching.  We'll see how that goes.

The rest of the short afternoon was spent knitting and supper was near 5 pm.  Eric called with a distress call having biked as he usually does to Indy from Carmel.  There was a call for heavy rain which really happened so we met him in Broad Ripple and moved him on north to Carmel.  Another good chance to visit with the first born.  I'll make the trip any day of the week for time with Eric.

``                                                A bit more organized.  Maybe!

Tonight there will be more knitting.  I've sluffed off for a few day.  It's always a good feeling to get those needles moving again.  Now you know what happened this Thursday.  Not much but always something.  That makes my day.
