Tuesday

Today was an interesting day with church visual work.  I love those days.  But the day started a bit slow.  And I love when that happens.  I finished the last few inches of another scarf.  Knitting has slowed way down these days.  I think this scarf was on the needles for at least a week.  Well, it seems like that.

I was off to church around 10:15. A little later than usual.  Dot, the Oehlers and Goetzingers arrived at 11.  Preparation for All Saints Sunday happened. We talked a bit about the visuals for the Hamilton Sunday. There were two more jobs assigned to the crew labeled  Advent preparation.  We split up and two people went to the chapel to work and the rest of us hit the stairs to the attic room over Darren's office.

The chapel assignment was to go through three drawers dividing the ornaments that said Christmas from other ornaments such as one that identified the trinity. A few more "others" were identified. Dot and Laurel did a great job.

Just a few from our DeLong collection.
Two Curly Willow branches will stay in the chapel filled with ornaments.                                                                                      The third will be in the narthex.

The attic job was to sort through the greenery box, some of which is very old and mixed with other things.  That happened.  We also identified where some other things were that will be used. What was stored 12 months ago some how had the ability to be forgotten even if labeled.  So all those questions were answered.  I'll need to buy 4 big red bows for the outside west portico and some greenery for the chapel. I feel pretty confident that we'll be in great shape at decorating time. The next big preparation event happens November 8th when the youth bring all the identified things from the attic to the lower level.  They are such a HUGE help.

Then it was back home for lunch and time for the chair.  That included a lot of afternoon sleep.  The church is big and seems to be growing bigger the older I get.  I had two legs that felt like spaghetti.   I did a lot of sleeping the rest of the afternoon.

Warmed over split pea soup was supper.  Then came the blog.  Who knows what the evening will bring but I suspect it will be pretty quiet after what I think was a busy day.  Tomorrow the calendar is clear.  I may do some Goodwill flannel sheet hunting.  Then again, I might not. I did manage to do some sheet ripping and ironing today in the in between times helping with burp preparation.
