Saturday
Another beautiful fall day. They just keep coming although this one has it's nippy moments.
Mexican Sun Flowers. I took all the flower pictures about an hour ago.I started the day sewing and finished 20 more burps. Then I was off to Beth's to see what her project could be. It's a good one with souvenir patches purchased over the years on many vacations belonging to Sarah and Allison. Something to bring back memories. I think it will be a bit of a challenge but I'll give it my best shot. After a great visit I was back home again anxious to see what my sewing machine would do with the patches.
Little Begonia plant on the patio.Surprise, surprise. The machine refused to do anything telling me the motor was over loaded without doing one stitch. So what to do. I pulled out the Doris machine knowing it had problems as well and it still was malingering. The dear Phaff was loaded in the car and off to the fixit hospital we went. It will be hospitalized for at least 3 weeks. Maybe longer. There is always a waiting time and once again we'll wait. It would seem December will be a sewing month again with a few Christmas things to finish.
I did learn that there are special needles that will go through the glue that is on the back of all the patches without getting stuck. Now that is really worth knowing. I've tried to sew patches before and it's quite a job otherwise. New needles will come home when the sewing machine arrives.
The afternoon was full of football with good and bad stuff happening. I like to watch BIG TEN games. Purdue and Minnesota had their problems and good times although they were not playing each other.
A Mullin plant in the garden. It should have waited till spring.I spent some time in one of the closets making room for the summer fans. They finally are packed away for a while. I found more things to pitch out. It's such a great feeling when unloading happens.
I think there will be some knitting in the coming days to take the place of sewing. I pulled out wool for mushroom making time. There might be some Thanksgiving visitors coming and cooking/baking ahead is always a great way to survive that long weekend. I'll have time now with no sewing to distract. I hate to cook when family is here. So cooking early is on time and then I can play with my family.
