There was nothing new about the morning routine.  Same old same old as JB Russell would say.  That was the early morning stuff.  After being back home again after Nora, I got on the computer and dumped my brain as I have done many times.  That dump is all about Lent.  What will happen visually in many places of the church with all in place by Ash Wednesday is now on paper.  So it began with what will happen in the sanctuary, narthex, chapel, and west entrance with a few more smaller places indicated.  Having this on paper helps me as well as those who have assumed responsibilities for each place named.  The questions disappear, well a lot of questions, and the work moves right along.  So the paper is full and my brain is empty as it should be.   The rest of the day was pretty simple.  I would say a bit of chair sitting, napping, and just sort of letting the mind and body take a day off from a whole lot of something.  The TV political news was interesting, Walking through the garden ha

First to Dee's inquiry.  At one time I did two chocolate chip bags to one recipe.  Not anymore.  One bag, one recipe.  It's good enough that way.  But it always haunts me. And now to the rest of the day.  No cookie smells this morning.  Just good old fresh air on my early walk around the garden.  I got Eric off to work.  Then did a few things around the house and then it was off to church to get the fabric I left there yesterday.  But that wasn't all.  Lent needed to be defined visually so I pulled out things we would use in the sanctuary and planned for the chapel and the west entrance.  It's all set in my mind and needs to be on paper.  We'll pull some of this together Sunday after church when I have the "big guns" meaning some tough guys that can handle big things.  Then the 13th will be the follow-up crew's work morning finishing everything.  I love it when decisions are made choosing from our huge stash of possibilities. A good easy day at church and then an easy afternoon at home.  What could be better?  Not much. I woke early and made a decision to make cookies.  This time Chocolate Chips.  It would seem that Saturday started with cookies.  I'm sure Monday will not!  The youth group did such a wonderful job of putting Christmas away at church last Sunday so I thought a C Chip payday was well-deserved.  And the cookies were well received.   Such a confused look on Doug's face when his nose gave him the cookie message. Two mornings in a row seemed unreal to him.  Like usual a taste test was in order and he approved.  90% left the house.   Celebrating Jack Leonard's 81st birthday and given by his wife Jacklyn..  The flowers were eye candy.  Such a blast of color was certainly appreciated. As usual, there were two arrangements.    After church, Ginnie got her coverups and all the important stuff was said and we moved on home.   The afternoon was filled with absolutely nothing except for walki

The day started a little different than the usual. that happens. Doug was up first.  And I was in the kitchen soon after with baked cookies.  Check the time on the stove.  Molasses cookies for breakfast.  Well, not quite but it could have happened.    I did do some sewing wanting to close out with another 10 meaning that there were 7 in the stack already so it wasn't very hard to get to 10.                                                               This is what 60 cover-ups look like.   I sacked them up and loaded them in the car for delivery tomorrow to Ginny.  She'll take them on to Goodwill getting them to the right person.  Woo, I'm always glad to have them out of the house and on their way to helping someone who will use them.  All of the above took most of the morning.   Lunch was late and then looking at the full plate of cookies I decided that they needed to be shared.  All those cookies would have eventually been eaten here which was not a very healthy happenin

Friday.

Second Presbyterian Fire Report. via Eric.  It would appear that the fire from the car did not get into the church.  I would think the doors must be thick and the stone is also a good protector.  But I really don't know more than that.  That's the fire part.  Now how about smoke?  I had a text from my forever friend Nancy Baxter who now lives near Cleveland about the Sec. Presb. fire.  Easier to talk about the answer rather than text the answer so we had a great visit via our iPhones.   So it is Friday.  I took the pressure off the peddle and that felt pretty good.  I did sew but it was at a more leisurely pace. I added seven to the stash and tore up the last sheet with nine more possibles but I'm leaving those nine for another day or maybe adding an s to the word day.   I walked the garden hunting for anything and I found a few changes. I thought this was tarrigon but now I'm calling it something.  I think it is right beside the tarragon which usually doesn't wint

Another day at the beach.  I've renamed the sewing machine.  That's the only way I'll get to the beach.  Do you think that will work?  Probably not.  I had a goal in mind and when that happens it usually means a long work day.                                                                                   Do I wish for? You bet.  Today was a day that proved that 11 cover-ups can happen starting from zero.  And I finished at 4:30.  But it was putting the peddle to the metal or something like that.  So I finished up with 50 completed waiting for a delivery on Sunday.  And the goal is to figure out exactly what the 130 or so really is!.                                                                                             The latest stack of 11  Nothing happened in the kitchen and I'm really getting hungry for ginger snap cookies with a glass of cold milk.  Milk is easy.  Cookies need a little effort.  That should be on the do list for tomorrow.  We did a pick up o
