IN Carmel

 Easy Sunday morning after a short night.  We left for church around 10.  It's about a 20-minute drive on most Sundays.  Aith anticipationrriving at church I remembered to be first in the sanctuary to pick the pew that best fits my hearing aides.  Doug will choose the back third.  I will choose the front third.  It was the latter this morning.  Heidi joined us along with some good choir members who no longer are singing with the choir.  Friends forever.  Great music with the children and their dads singing Mary Did You Know. I love the words...when you kissed your little baby, you kissed the face of God.  It was a great worship-filled service.   The Choristers with their dads or their adopted dads for the morning.  There are even some grandpas in the group.  After church, I had many questions needing answers regarding the four services next Sunday.  There will be one at 11 themed as the fourth Sunday in Adve...

 It was a slow morning with not much happening.  The big three were finished in no time all with great success.  I worked a little bit with the flannel getting it ready to cut.  There is plenty of flannel and could be enough for more than 100 burp cloths.  Many more for the Goodwill babies.  Late morning we headed to the Jordan Y to get our Y membership in order.  Being a Silver Sneakers allows one to be a free member.  The powers that be want us old folks to exercise and stay healthy.  That's a plus for the health insurance company and the Y makes that happen We stayed for a while with bicycle riding, leg presses, and the walking machine keeping me busy.  Doug skipped the bike but did some other things. The goal is to make it an everyday thing as it was a few years ago before Covid.  I usually went to the Y after taking Eric to the bus stop. Because they both are in Nora I think it could happen again.      ...

 Another great start to the day with super results with all the brain stuff.  Well, it's brain stuff for my brain.  Maybe not for others but for me...YES!  I piddled around until mid-morning when it was off to the dentist in Zionsville for the last part of getting a crown.  I am so glad that's over and the prediction is that all the teeth now in my mouth are in good shape.  I hope to keep it that way.  Paying the dentist's bill and Christmas don't go together easily.                                                    From a few years ago.  I miss my friends.    I had a few extra minutes before the appointment so I stopped at Goodwill looking for any flannel sheets.  Bum luck on the visit.  Another early morning success with all that usually starts the day.  I moved on to the kitchen with another soup-making morning.  This time Chicken Vegetable morning.  I bought chicken thighs at the store thinking they were breasts.  What a goof.  Easy to do I guess if one doesn't look at the label,  They went into the pot along with a whole lot of other things. I have a feeling the goof may turn out to be a good thing.  The taste could be an improvement. I added turkey drippings to the pot from Thanksgiving.  Woo...super tasting soup I would add.  I needed to make a trip to church to check on the poinsettias water needs.  And they needed water.  I'm really surprised that after two weeks in the sanctuary, they looked as if they had just arrived.  No need to replace them.  Will they last another week?  I hope so.  I visited with the Thursday crew of food preparers and then left to stop at Lowes to see what w...

                                     More buds are appearing.  I'm wondering if I have a Valentine's Cactus. The morning start couldn't have been better.  Great Star crossword, successful Wordel, and the same with Connections.  Oh, what a beautiful morning.  I will add that I didn't see Eric this morning.  It seems that another kidney stone has sidelined him today. His last night and morning weren't so beautiful.  He heard from the stone yesterday afternoon.  The meds are slowing him down quite a bit but it's one of the treatments.  Kill the pain using the big stuff with the hope that the stone will pass out at some point.  He's been through this before so he knows the drill.  Although he thought the last event was at least 10 years ago.  No attacks since then are a good thing.  I was up early and had a great morning with Wordel a a horrible morning with Connections.  I'm still working on it!  I hate to make mistakes.   I spent some time entertained by the birds.  In fact, I thought their environment needed a little holiday sprucing up.  This is what happened.  The Nuthatches and Tufted Titmouse were really, really happy with the peanut feeder.                                                               Now doesn't this look a little more interesting.                                                                       ...

 Today was not like yesterday.  There are miles to go today and things to do today.  My kind of day for sure.    I'm adding a few more nativity pictures to the post today.  I could probably do this to July before there would be a repeat nativity set.   I made it to the grocery store and did a whole lot of damage.  My eyes got a little big at the bill and I thought Aldi's?  Even at Aldi's, I was in for a big surprise.  So we will eat again for a while.  Doug always meets me at the door when there are lots of bags to carry in and put away.  He chooses to never darken the door of a grocery store.  Something makes me think he's noisy about what he will be eating.  This guy will eat just about anything I cook.  And what he won't eat I don't cook.  Humm...those were a couple of interesting sentences you just read.   Soon after the grocery job was finished I was off to church stopping at Rita's for c...
