Morning routine as usual but I'm in a slump with wordle.  Just not thinking quickly enough.  JB says I should spread the try over the day.  He's right again.  Funny how he's right a whole lot.  He has an impatient mother. Star crossword is doing fine.  A walk through the garden found this. flower combination. .. I spent a little time with another big blue almost full today.  Move stuff being contributed to the project.  The weather has been perfect for the fall.  It's a winner in my book.  Doug thinks it's getting cold.  He asked to have the wool blanket put on the bed.  His blood condition makes him very sensitive to the cold.  I could deal with fewer blankets.  So I do.  Well Bring on the snow.  Well, not yet.   Watch some TV with hurricane news.  It sure was a mighty storm for Florida and is moving on to the north country.  Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink!  Was that Shakspeare?   Or who.? I worked on an altar idea for Creation Care Sunday.  I th

I picked these this morning.  There are a few more peppers in the garden.   All the usual morning stuff with a big flunk on Wordle.  I don't use words like that is my excuse which like always is a poor excuse.  I started on the last picture project and realized that I ordered the wrong size.  So after taking a break I ordered the right size.  Many thanks there were only 4 prints but the price really jumps when moving to a 5X7.  I'm still missing the Carmel Russell pets.  These pictures will be hanging for a long time.   I've got the horse, cat, dog chicken and three lambs pictured.  And of course the grandsons.   The wall also holds the wedding picture of my parents.  The brown blob is an antique wooden carving of a rooster. I'm not sure what it was used for.  Maybe a big cookie?  I finally remembered to call Mike to make a haircut appointment.  It's been way too long since the last cutting visit.  He ask how soon could I get to the shop.  Five minutes said a desp

Thinking Tuesday.

I was just thinking about the fact that I write every day.  A few years ago I would have said I will never journal.  Well, here I am writing about the day with a good amount of pleasure enjoying the moment.  I am expecting more surprises to come since that hasn't stopped so far.  Journeling?  never.  You know one should never say or think never. The morning started with all the usual routine. .  I ordered more pictures one being a 9X12 you see as the first picture today. A memory I want to be burned in my memory.                     It is sort of a 23rd Psalm picture although there is no quiet water except in the drinking tanks.  It's such a peaceful picture seen just outside the Michigan Russell's kitchen window.                             It's many shades of green pasture that restores my soul and leads me.    I found pictures already taken of all the flower seeds we hope to have available for sharing at the                                    October 9th Creation Ca

It was rise and shine after a great night of sleeping.  Breakfast, wordle, crossword and pushing the publish button on the blog, hanging the suet time for the rest of the day to begin.                                      One of the last hybiscus blooms with a few drops of rain on the peddles.  Working on seed harvesting took a little time by adding more zinnias to the collection.  Then I was ready to work with Jennifer at church.  We ordered seed envelopes and determined what was to go on the labels. I called Dot who also is a seed saver and when envelopes and labels are ready we will have a working morning with seeds and envelopes and labels.  Yahoo.  I visited the Community Room and took this picture.                        Five pans of macaroni with tomatoes and gr. beef for tomorrow's lunch is in the                                    refrigerator in the Community Room. All ready for the next Bread and Bowl meal.                       Bread delivered last week and a little o

Today is another good church day.  The fall season is ramping up and there is a lot happening.  Darren remarked that the schedule of the morning filled the monitor screen that is hanging in the west lobby.  True, true.  North is back in business.  Noah served again as acylate.  He loves to do it and that brings a good feeling to my heart. Being church busy is what we are to do.                             The choir sits in the front of the sanctuary so we have a great line of sight.                                                     A  friend reported that she was glad to see him take up the job again. The N.                                              Russell is always available because there is handbell practice after church.                                                                     Eric also helps with the soundboard from time to time.  .   We did not close the church today so were home in plenty of time for the Colts game.  It was the first of some exciting games with

Saturday.

Another wonderful weather morning.  All of the at home morning routine was completed and I was off to church for our Saturday Bread and Bowl morning.  I was the first one there and got started doing what needed doing.  We had a total of 5 experienced workers which made a good team.                                           More color is showing on the Autumn Joy succulents. Saturdays have been a bit slow compared to our Tues and Thurs crowd but today was different.  We served 43 folks in the community room with some folks asking for a second plate.  There were 38 carry-out meals.  All the food was gone by 12 o'clock. Folks were served and the fact that we threw nothing away indicates a great day in the Community Room.   These three bright-eyed children came for lunch near the end of the hour with their grandmother.  There is a 5th grader, kindergartener and second-grade student all with great conversational skills used while visiting.  I hope they return to get five prints of this

Another Friday.

What a gift.  Two gorgeous days in a row.  Low humidity, Temperatures that made me want to stay outside all day with the birds and flowers.  Yes a gorgeous day.  I enjoy days like today just because retirement makes enjoying the day so easy. I cleaned up the last big flowerbed of Susan's.with a plant here or there around the yard to still reminding me of their gift and moved to the big blue later  I'm an early bird this year on the Susan Job.  I decided that today would also be seed day.  That means the dried Marigold flowers were ready to tear apart to find the seeds releasing them from their tight band and allowing them to dry completely.  There must be a million altogether.                                 Seeds must be completely dry or mold will destroy them in storage.                                              This bunch of seeds is filling a few sheets of newspaper on the dining room table.

morning, Oh, what a beautiful day.  I have a wonderful feeling, Everything going my way.   The first day of fall and the temperature and humidity discribe fall for sure.  I did the usual morning trip and with clippers in hand, the whole morning and part of the afternoon were spent outside.  What a gift to open the season of autumn.                             Four different plants, Lambs Ears, Black Eyed Susans, Autumn Joy,                                                      and an unknown kind of grass, a gift from Rosie Jordan years and years ago.                                                                         Rocks from Lake Superior line this flowerbed.   And for some reason I can't understand, my tub of energy carried me through to the end.  Maybe it's the outdoors on the first day of fall, being what it is the keep ongoing gift of energy just kept on going.  Today I filled three big blues and the garden is enjoying a neater airier look.  Susans are about 90% go

Last Day of Summer Wed.

Short night makes a slow day.    I cut a few more Susans finishing off the contribution to the blue cans.  They are empty now and all ready to repeat the snipping and cutting exercises for next Wed. .  I have a few days to get-er-done.                                                                             Penhill Watermelon                                  Another look at a beautiful Dahlia from Dahlia Hill.  Just can't get enough. I cleaned the bathroom, a boring job but had to do it meaning even the rugs have been washed, dried, and back on the floor that was scrubbed.  Time to do it on a slow day.                                                                  Beautiful Cosmos from Kimmy's garden.   I chose some grandson pictures to get prints. The currently posted pictures are at least 6 years old.  Those grandsons grow up.  Now I need to take fresh pictures of the Carmel Russell grandsons.   Photo prints included some of Dahlia Hill for my friend Kathy.  It's the

Breakfast and a little morning news started the day.  Then it was out to the garden to pick up the piles of cut-off Susans from yesterday and continued on with more cutting and filling blue containers.                                                                Just a few good ones left. I took a break and took Stella to help my friend Alan.  Stella was such a help to me after my surgery and she was just hanging out in the corner of the dining room.  Alan is starting to walk again and Stella is the best thing to keep him in the upright position.  So gone for now helping a good friend after ankle surgery. Alan is a great friend.  So is Stella.                            I'm not much of a cat person but this qualifies as good friend Michigan iSteve.                 He's just a pretty well-behaved cat waiting every morning at the back door to say hello..   Then it was back to the garden work and two blue containers stuffed to the max and I'm bushed.  Lunch came early and

Yes, Indiana is home now until Thanksgiving.  Then it's the Georgia days with family.  Hip, Hip Horray.  The morning started early.  I wanted to watch the Queen's service and I saw whole lot.  My, my.  I would imagine they all could use a foot soaking.  Both the walking and service were impressive.  I was not disappointed.  Aldi's was on the list of things to do.  I love to grocery shop.  This time the entertainment was a mother with three little unbelievably well-behaved children.  All four of them.  I could have followed them all morning and been accused of stalking.  Next on the list was a trip to church for a Worship and Arts meeting.  That was also great hearing about all the ins and outs of the fall season.  Exciting, interesting things are coming.  Lots of conversation happened.  We will be busy.   I added these Michigan animals with the excuse that on Creation Care Sunday once again we'll have some live animals in the sanctuary.  Not chickens or sheep but I'
