This jade plant was gifted to me from neighbor Kathy on my birthday two years ago.  It was one of many succulents in this pot.  Now it's the only plant that is taking up most of the room once occupied by many succulents.  They are living in other places.    Another midweek day with a surprise visit by the Big Blues.  Usually, a Monday holiday will give us a Thursday visit.  Well, not today.  Doug collected everything yesterday forgetting about the holiday.  But when he heard the trucks this morning it was a quick run to the street with the B Blues to meet the B Blues.  That got the day going pretty fast                                                                                    ...

Tursday

Of course, we must start with Monday evening and the win.  The BIG TIME WIN!  The only one in my lifetime is one way to remember the event.  And if you guessed the I U Football Championship game...you are right. This teacher will give you an A+. What fun to be experiencing JOY in this case. It was an evening of pure exuberance hearing from friends vacationing in California with an earthquake happening in the middle of the game maybe IU caused, camping friends in Sterling, Mi and family members.   This morning, I turned on the sports TV station and relived last night again.  Another few hours of living with Monday's sweet memories.  It feels good to have positive vibes for a happening even if it's football. The kids gifted us with a positive Indiana experience. We'll make it last as long as we can. Another happening for me later this morning was another balance PT drill.  Sessions have been pretty easy so far, but today's assignments just didn't go...

More Memories.  How could I forget. Today was a knitting day.  The TV was on good music.  NO Greenland, Denmark, Venezuela, Minnesota Sex Scandal, Putin or Trump., just music and needles.  I bought some yarn a few months ago that I really didn't like.  It was slippery to handle.  Today I decided to try knitting that yarn again.  It really wasn't as bad as I had remembered. A couple of more hours and I can put another scarf in the finished basket.   Another "amusement" was watching the birds.  It really wasn't very amusing most of the time, maybe maddening. Starlings and B. Birds both wanting to eat meal worms and me trying to outdo the Starlings.  IMPOSSIBLE.  I'm l...

A yesterday picture.  I think they were off finding a place to keep warm today.   Another church day.  I was awake to greet it in the middle of the night.  Why?  I don't know the answer but I know it was a very short night which made the morning come very early.  Must be getting old...you think?  I heard once that old people don't sleep.  Should I believe that?                                         By gone days with the hope of returning soon but never soon enough. Since the morning started in the middle of the night, there was a lot of time to knit even though we left for church an hour earlier.  This morning was the designated time to move Christmas to the attic during the Sunday School hour...

Mr. Red Bellied with a little chickadee.  I would call a day like today having a theme of NOTHING much.  There were the usual three meals although trying to eat more protein caused a few in between snacks.   I finished another scarf.  I call that nothing.   I started another scarf.  I call that nothing.                                                                  Two of many Blue Birds seen today. I watched some crazy TV weather shows.  You know...people doing stupid stuff. Nothing There was an Ohio basketba...

Now how is that for a wheelbarrow full of zinnia's that will provide seeds for next spring.   I would say today was not such a crazy day.  A few things happened and the word I liked was few. I finished the 30 burps.  It took me 90 minutes to circle all the burp with another run through the middle of each one.  DONE...yes I cooked them.  I thought of tearing more fabric, but I just never got past the thinking part.  That can happen in my life.  There will be more days to work on that.                                                                                      I hope to have a few more of these come summe...

Thursday

Pretty cup plant flower.  Tree frogs can live in the leaves near the stem where water sits in the cup.                                                                                 A native Indiana plant. As it usually happens Thursday follows Wednesday.  That's pretty dependable.  And the morning started of as it usually does with all the things that makes it a morning before Doug.  And there was a lot to smash into the morning.  I ironed the 30 burps, now ready for the last sewing machine go around. That should happen tomorrow.  Other stuff got in the way.  I decided to make some soup for supper using some lentils bought at the Michigan Amish Grocery.  The recipe made ...

The deer found these last summer.  We saw no flowers and few leaves.   Today was an almost opposite day of sitting on the chair.  There was a little of that but not much.  But of course, my eyes opened around 7:30. Whoopee!  So, there was breakfast, paper retrieving coffee with Mika and friends and a few other things.                            I thought I'd throw this in for a memory of a wonderful, delightful pet, no longer with us.                           He was a joy in so many ways.  Dear Wyatt.  His chair now sits on our patio in the summer.         There is talk of a standard poodle moving in again with the ...

Sweet camping memories.  Still memories but without the old folks for the first time ever. Sad. So, what happened today.  Almost the same old same old and Jared would say.  Almost is the word.  Today was the second PT.  Before that happened, it was the same old stuff.  Breakfast, a little paper, and knitting until my hand went to sleep again.  Just my hand.  The whole-body thing happened later.  When just the hand, it's time to stop for a while until it wakes up and takes a break. My break consisted of sewing some burps until it was time for the drive to PT.                    Flamingos, I saw many of the real ones on a lake in Kenya.  They looked a bit different. Then it was off to see Michael and Daren.  Daren is the one in training and he conducted everything with Michael alongside.  All was about balance.  The toy...

What a wonderful way to end the day.  Sailors delight.                                                                                                 Seen on our drive taking Eric home from work.  I am so grateful. Monday.  It feels like Tuesday.  I'll just wait a bit and Tuesday will be here.  The morning was pretty quiet.  I did a little knitting but not much.  I ripped the last of the available fabric preparing for another 30 burps when the spirit moves me to the sewing mac...

Sunday

Image
Yes, today was Sunday.  And though we couldn't see the sun shining because of the cloud cover it certainly was shining at church today.  Ginny got another 100 burp cloths and 10 more scarves. There was a wonderful celebration in Fellowship Hall at 9:30 honoring the completion of the cleaning of our dirty coal stained outside stonework.  Built in the 20's when there was coal, it certainly needed cleaning and sealing and with a matching grant the possibility of a return to what it once looked like when built with not cracks or bad spots for rain leaks has been very exciting to see. It was a time to celebrate what those church members in the 20's gave us.  We are grateful.           A shell insert in the pulpit made by Doris Douglas years ago and always useful in so many ways. Then it was on to the 11 o'clock service where once again as happens every early January, it was a remember your baptism Sunday.  The service was full of l...

Before we get to the day, you might need a reminder.  And if you don't, that's OK also.                          This came to me from son Eric.  Don't throw snowballs if this doesn't fit your mood. Well, I would say today was an eventful day.  I hope they keep coming.  It was church soup kitchen day.  An event that goes by many names.  So off to church at 8 am again.  Tasha was back again to open the door.  Her mother died unexpectable the day after Christmas.  It was good to see her.                                                     Maybe you will like this picture better. And then the trouble began.  For a reason I just didn't quite understand there were no three pans of food to heat and  thr...

A very quiet day and I am grateful. There wasn't much push to do much of anything.  It just was a day for the most part.                                        Just a reminder of what happens sometimes.  This one came from Mi. The morning saw some knitting work.  For some reason I have a sore thumb that holds the knitting needle.  It feels like the skin is cracking so I put some Gold Bond cream on it a few times today that helped a lot.  So knitting was slow and easy.  No hurry, no worry!  The morning just eased along like a lazy river.                                                     More to my liking.  I hope we see these in a few months. I made a trip to the Y ...

Today, there was time spent at home and time spent other places.  Of course, the day started at home.  About a month ago I spent some time with my diabetic doctor.  Some changes needed to happen and some made on a trial basis.  So, the month of trial has passed, and it was time to do some reporting.  So off to the doctor's office to pass in my homework paper with the tell all results.                                                    So pretty.  I'm happy to have these in my memory bank. I took a new way home which led to some crazy turns that got me to Rosie's for a garden visit in her beautiful gift shop. She was closed.  And then I chose another crazy turn to the Nora Goodwill to check on flannel sheets.  There were none but I did find some crazy looking frogs that would be interesting...
